CIA Challenge Exam

The Challenge Exam is a one-sitting route to the CIA for approved CPA and CA holders and qualified CISA holders. It covers the whole CIA body of knowledge in one 150-question exam, aligned to the Global Internal Audit Standards.

Why take the Challenge Exam?

Already qualified as an accountant or IS auditor? The Challenge Exam is the shortest road to the CIA.

  • One exam, not three

    A single 150-question, 3-hour exam replaces Parts 1, 2 and 3 for eligible candidates.

  • Recognises what you’ve earned

It is open to approved CPA and CA holders and qualified CISA holders, building on the audit judgement you already have.

  • Adds internal audit to your profile

For a CISA holder, the CIA adds the internal audit credential; for an accountant, it moves you into assurance over the whole organisation.

  • Tests application

It assesses practical application of the 2024 Global Internal Audit Standards at an advanced level, the way you would use them at work.
