Data lineage and provenance
Where data came from and what happened to it on the way.
Lineage traces data from source through transformations to use; provenance records its origin and rights to use it. Both are needed to judge data quality, explain outputs and respond to privacy requests.
On the exam
Without lineage, the auditor can’t confirm that training data is complete, authorised and fit for purpose.
