EU AI Act
The EU’s risk-based law on AI, in force since August 2024 and applied in phases.
The Act groups AI by risk: prohibited practices, high-risk systems (with duties for risk management, data quality, documentation, human oversight and more), systems with transparency duties, and minimal risk. AI used in areas such as hiring and credit decisions can be high-risk.
On the exam
AI used to screen job applicants is a typical high-risk example.
